You don’t want to go through all the effort of rolling out a wall, only to be left with a patchy and uneven finish. Avoid having any regrets and make sure you invest in a good quality roller before you start.

Monarch’s range of premium task rollers will give any surface a beautiful, smooth finish with great coverage so you can get the job done faster. Better yet, our rollers won’t drop any lint so you won’t have to worry about picking up any loose fibres out of your new paint job.

Roller covers are made from a variety of materials and come in a number of nap lengths. For those of you with some painting experience you will know that the longer the nap, the more paint a roller will hold. And some fabrics such as Ultra Microfibre are great for use on smooth surfaces, where others such as woven polyester make light work of rough and textured surfaces.

If you’re new to painting, Monarch has taken the guesswork out of choosing the right roller. Our roller covers are named after the project they are designed for, making the selection process simple.

Key tips to remember when rolling

  • Before painting, make sure you wash your roller with water and spin out any excess. You don’t want excess water, but paint will apply to the surface better with a pre-rinsed roller.
  • Start in the middle and glide your roller up and down the surface. Go back over it again until the surface area is smooth.
  • Between coats, wrap up the loaded roller in aluminum foil. This will keep the paint fresh and prevent it from drying out.
