If you’re using water-based paint soak your brush in an inch of water for 10-15min, then remove and spin in between your hands to remove excess water.

STEP 2: Preparing your paper

Prepare your art space by using drop sheets to protect the area from any unexpected mess. Lay 2 paper sheets next to each other to have easy access and ensure consistent brush strokes.

STEP 3: Apply first colour

Using your Monarch 38mm Moulding & Skirting Brush, apply your first colour in a straight line. Repeat the same process on the opposite side of the same paper sheet. On the 2nd paper, apply the same colour in the centre, creating a big, thick brush stroke.

STEP 4: Apply second colour

Using your Monarch 22mm Windows and Doors Brush, make a straight brush stroke right next to your first line. Use a lighter contrasting colour to give your canvas a beautiful colour variation.
