How To Paint an Exterior Wall


Painting the exterior of your home can seem like a daunting task but it doesn’t have to be!

Materials required to complete this DIY project

Wash

Lay out your drop sheet. Use Sugar Soap to remove dust and grime from the wall. Make sure you wear protective gloves when using this product.
Fill

Fill

Use your Mini Caulking Gun and Gap Filler to seal any gaps between wall edges and windows. Fill large cracks with your scraper and a quality exterior filler. Sand over the filled areas once dry.
Cut In

Cut In

Soak your brush in an inch (25mm) of water for at least 15 minutes prior to use. Cut in around edges and touch up filled areas.
Roll

Roll

As with your brush, give your roller cover a quick rinse prior to use. Load it with your chosen paint in a tray. Roll out the wall in sections, beginning in the middle of each section and rolling up and down.

Once your first coat is completely dry, apply your second coat. Repeat every step of the first coat in the same order. This will ensure that your wall has an all-over even finish.
